New Hosting

August 8, 2008

I’ve just transferred this blog to a new web host. I expect there to be a few minor teething troubles so bear with me!

Note the URL is now http://blog.timothyfletcher.com instead of http://www.timothyfletcher.com. It will automatically forward for now but I’ll be using www.timothyfletcher.com for other stuff at some point in the future.

Update: You can probably tell that I’m on new hosting by the fact that pages now load lightening fast. Goodbye MediaTemple, hello SliceHost!

What to Search for to Find this Blog

August 6, 2008

Ahhh.. I love Google’s analytics package. It allows me to see all the crazy search terms that have brought wandering web surfers to my site. Here’s a select few:

  1. Is Tim Fletcher married
  2. kombodscha ladyboy
  3. Khao San Road ladyboys
  4. Tortured ladyboy
  5. Corporal punishment females prison (?!?)
  6. Massage by ladyboys in Brighton (My personal favourite)

What to Pack When Travelling and Backpacking

July 22, 2008

Through November 2006 until August 2007 I solo backpacked through India, Nepal, Thailand, Burma, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA. Before I left I extensively researched which items I should take and, more importantly, what I could get by without. I wanted to be as mobile as possible and so took only Read the rest of this entry »

A few months ago I made a few changes to the blog, one of which was to remove the ‘Recipes of the World’ page, a documentation of the cookery courses I did whilst travelling. Well, I’m putting them back online! Here’s the first – Recipes of India – As Learnt in India from an Indian

I think Regina’s Mayor Looks like the Fonz

July 13, 2008

Mai-Linh and I keep seeing Regina’s mayor everywhere we go. He cracks me up because I think he looks like the Fonz. Here’s the definitive pic so you can make your own mind up…

Mayor Fonz

Ok, maybe it’s not that close in this pic but TRUST ME, he’s a dead ringer in real life.

Ok, so I’m slack. Since I have a job now it basically means that I don’t get (or make) enough time for writing on my blog. It’s not just this one, my tech blog suffers too and I consider it a bit annoying. Something I need to work on I guess. Anyway, it’s not all forgotten about… Read the rest of this entry »

Canada Updates

May 31, 2008

So I’m a little over three weeks into my ‘New Life in Canada’ and anyone that reads this might be interested in what I’m up to and what I think of the Canadian way of life. I’ve been practicing a few Canadian sentences to try and blend in. For example ‘How are yahhh?’ and ‘Yohh, wassupp?’. I guess it’s difficult to appreciate them without hearing so you’ll have to use your imagination. Read the rest of this entry »

Canada Visa Through!

May 6, 2008

After sending off far too many pieces of paper and praying I’d not got anything wring, I finally have the document that will allow me to live and work in Canada for 12 months. I’m currently playing the waiting game at home before I take the dog to Kennels (my parents are in Ecuador) and my mate Oberon comes over to give me a lift to Chester. From Chester I get a Read the rest of this entry »
